INSPIRE, EMPOWER, BLOSSOM, through TEACHING. 

I have experience working with special, inclusion and general education classrooms.

As educators, we have to differentiate our lessons to tailor each student. We are all unique and have different ways of looking at things. We learn through our senses and background knowledge. Some of us are visual learners. Like myself, I learn through visuals. Auditory learners learn through sound. Learning through touch and hands-on experience. It’s important to learn about our students' background/ family and history. This way, we can adapt and tailor to them. Get to know our students' interests so that they feel welcomed, and they get a sense of belonging. 

I believe in the power of being different and that we all have a gift to shed light to those around us. No matter what our differences, we have to respect and value one another. Our differences are what makes us special. Keeping my students active and engaged, by making learning fun through the use of games and activities.

Differentiating instructions can be displayed to students through the use of scaffolds, centers, small group instruction and individualized focus with one on one support. These methods are constantly used within my teaching strategies.

In my practice, when giving a lesson, I incorporate visuals. I present YouTube videos, and provide reference sheets (I DO). Whole group and small group practice videos (WE DO). Have students work independently with worksheets to check for understanding (YOU DO).
